Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water systems, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has increased attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in providing protection systems and implementing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were laboring to fix the damage.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated energy workers and officials were anticipating further attacks.
